Chillicothe — Council greeted another new council member. After a heart attack earlier in the year, at-large member Dustin Proehl resigned last month. The Ross County Democratic Party selected Kathy Dunn to fill out the rest of his term, through the end of the year.
Delayed by Monday’s holiday, council met Wednesday evening in regular session.
Dunn said her first appearance in the council was a return to city service, after becoming city treasurer in 1986. She then left the city after winning election as Ross County Recorder.
Dunn said she has worked downtown for almost 50 years after moving here and working in a private business while in college in early 1970s.
She says she has seen the downtown come and go, and is glad it is prospering – but now it has the shadow of the threatened closing of the paper milll.
Dunn was already running for council at-large, and will be on the November ballot for the next term. Hear Dunn in her own words in the interview.
