Injury Accident and Breaking & Entering Response Highlight Busy Thursday for Circleville Police

CIRCLEVILLE — The Circleville Police Department maintained a heavy operational pace on Thursday, March 5, responding to 47 calls for service that included injury accidents, property crimes, and several vehicle repossessions.

Roadway Incidents & Traffic Safety

Traffic units were kept busy with a series of accidents and details throughout the day:

  • Injury Accident: At 12:18 p.m., officers responded to N. Pickaway St. for an accident involving injuries. A formal report was taken.
  • Citations & Reports: A non-injury accident occurred on E. Main St. at 11:36 a.m., resulting in a citation. Later that evening, another non-injury crash was reported on Nicholas Dr. at 5:34 p.m..
  • DUI Report: Officers were dispatched to SR 22 at 5:48 p.m. regarding a report of a drunk driver, though the call was cleared shortly after.

Property Crimes and Suspicious Activity

The evening hours saw a spike in calls regarding residential and business security:

  • Breaking & Entering: Officers rushed to Morris Rd. at 9:27 p.m. to investigate a report of Breaking & Entering. The site was “checked okay” by responding units.
  • Suspicious Activity: Police were called to Gale Ct. at 9:41 p.m. regarding a suspicious person, and to John St. earlier in the evening for a suspicious vehicle; both were cleared without formal reports.
  • Utility Issue: A report regarding Natural Gas or Electric issues on US 23 was taken just before 11:00 p.m..

Daily Operations & Civil Service

  • Repossessions: Two vehicles were repossessed during the morning shift, one on Wedgewood Ct. and another on Edgewood Dr..
  • Civil Papers: Officers attempted to serve civil process papers at multiple locations including Watt St., S. Washington St., and Sumpter Ave. While many were unable to locate the subjects, paperwork was successfully served on Watt St. at 5:25 p.m..
  • Found Property: A report was taken for property found on Plaza Dr. at 10:40 a.m..

The department also conducted over a dozen proactive “Extra Patrols” across the city, including checks on Clinton St., Clark Dr., and E. Circle Ln., all of which were cleared as secure.
