Igloo Expands Recall of 90 Qt. Rolling Coolers After Dozens of Fingertip Amputations Reported

May 10, 2025 — KATY, TX — Igloo Products Corp. has expanded its February 2025 recall of 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers after additional reports of serious injuries, including fingertip amputations. The expansion includes approximately 130,000 more coolers, bringing the total number recalled to nearly 1.2 million units across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The recall was issued after it was discovered that the cooler’s tow handle can pinch users’ fingertips against the cooler body, creating a risk of amputation or crushing injuries. Since the initial recall, the company has received 78 injury reports, including 26 cases involving fingertip amputations, fractures, or lacerations.

These coolers were sold in various color combinations and feature the “IGLOO” name printed on the side. The manufacturing date is located on the bottom of the cooler in a circular date code.

The recalled coolers were sold from January 2019 through January 2025 at Costco, Target, Academy Sports, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and through online retailers including Amazon and Igloocoolers.com, with prices ranging from $80 to $140.
