HILLSBORO, Ohio (Aug. 28, 2025) – A Hillsboro resident is celebrating a life-changing win after hitting the top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s $5 scratch-off game Joker’s Wild.
Bradley, whose last name was not released, revealed he initially thought his ticket was only worth a few dollars.
“I assumed it was a $5 or $10 winner,” he said. “But when I kept scratching and saw all the zeros, I realized it was much bigger.”
The ticket turned out to be worth the game’s $100,000 top prize. After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings totaling 28%, Bradley will take home $72,000.
This is Bradley’s largest win to date, though he’s no stranger to lottery luck — he has previously won three prizes of $1,000 on $20 and $50 scratch-off tickets.
He purchased the winning ticket at Rocky Road Sunoco, 1111 North Shore Dr., Hillsboro, a store he frequents for its wide selection and reputation for quickly stocking new games.
Joker’s Wild is a $5 scratch-off game with a $100,000 top prize. As of Aug. 27, 2025, two top prizes remain.
