PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — A dramatic high-speed chase that began with a display of reckless driving concluded with a guilty plea on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in Pickaway County Court. Jett Vu, 21, admitted to failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, receiving a sentence of 30 months in prison, a $2,500 fine, and a 10-year license suspension.

The incident unfolded Tuesday night when Commercial Point Police initiated a pursuit of a Chevy Corvette for speeding within town limits. The vehicle, driven by Vu, fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph, prompting officers to alert the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Communications Division. Assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Franklin County Sheriff’s Department soon followed as the chase spanned multiple county and township roads.
For safety reasons, law enforcement terminated the ground pursuit, deploying a helicopter to track the Corvette. Ground units then strategically placed spike strips, with a second attempt successfully disabling the vehicle near Stahl Rd in Orient after it traveled with two flat tires. The chase had earlier taken Vu through the Timber Lake subdivision and a refueling stop at SR-665 and I-71.

Officers from multiple agencies, including Commercial Point Police, converged on the scene, apprehending Vu. His brother, a passenger in the Corvette, was released to their mother without charges. Familiarity with Vu, a Commercial Point resident, aided authorities, who coordinated with his mother to encourage his surrender.
The case, initially under investigation for multiple failure-to-comply and speeding charges, saw a swift resolution with Vu’s guilty plea today. Authorities continue to gather details, but the sentencing marks a significant outcome to the high-speed pursuit.
