PICKAWAY – A high-speed pursuit across Pickaway County came to a dramatic end on a December afternoon on 12/11/24 with the arrest of Eddie Dwayne Nobile, 42, who was wanted on multiple charges, including an active Franklin County warrant.

The chase began around 2 p.m. on that day after several 911 calls reported an erratic driver veering off the roadway on US-23. Deputies from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office located a silver Chrysler minivan exiting the highway at the Circleville Cloverleaf and attempting to head into downtown Circleville. When a deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop, the driver made a sudden U-turn and sped westbound on State Route 22/56, fleeing the city limits.

The pursuit escalated as the vehicle reached speeds exceeding 100 mph along SR-22. Law enforcement coordinated efforts while the deputy pursued the minivan and radioed for backup. The chase continued through the intersection of SR-22 and SR-104, where the suspect drove through a gas station parking lot before turning northbound on SR-104.

Officers from the South Bloomfield Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol deployed spike strips along the suspect’s route, successfully flattening three of the four tires. With the tires damaged, the vehicle slowed to roughly 30 mph. The chase concluded near Walker Road, where Nobile veered off the roadway and was taken into custody without further incident.

On-scene reporting confirmed that Nobile had previously been arrested in Pickaway County for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) and had multiple pending charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia, hit-and-run, driving under suspension, and failure to appear for prior court dates. During his latest arrest, he was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to comply, failure to appear, and driving under suspension.

Recent Court Outcome
This week, Nobile appeared in Pickaway County Court and pled guilty to Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of a Police Officer. The charge was amended to a fourth-degree felony (F-4). He was sentenced to 18 months in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC), to be served consecutively with his current sentence, along with court costs.
