CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Harbour Knoxx Peabody Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting families through the loss of a baby, has launched a meaningful partnership with Berger Hospital’s bereavement program, announced on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 10:23 AM EDT. The collaboration aims to provide comfort to grieving families in Pickaway County by supplying the hospital with bereavement boxes—care packages designed to offer solace and remembrance.
Founded by Elizabeth Peabody in memory of her stillborn son, Harbour Knoxx, in December 2022, the foundation has been a beacon of hope since its inception in November 2023. The Bereavement Box program includes memory books, handmade blankets, candles, and support guides, ensuring families leave the hospital with keepsakes and resources during their grief. “Our goal is to make sure no family leaves the hospital empty-handed,” Peabody said. “The pain of losing a child is unimaginable, but we want parents to know they’re not alone—that their baby mattered and will always be remembered.”
Since starting, the foundation has donated over 270 bereavement boxes to hospitals, funeral homes, and families nationwide. The partnership with Berger Hospital marks a significant step in expanding its reach locally, providing essential support to those experiencing pregnancy or infant loss in the region.
The foundation also fosters community healing through events like the annual Wave of Light Ceremony in October and the Harbour of Hope Christmas Bash Fundraiser in December, which raise awareness and unite families in shared experiences of loss and recovery.
