CHILLICOTHE, OH – September 3, 2024 – Geovanii Casillas, a 50-year-old resident of Chillicothe, has been found guilty of several charges of child rape in Ross County.
The charges include several counts of rape and sexual misconduct involving a 13-year-old child. The charges arise from an investigation into allegations made by the child, who reported the abuse after staying overnight at Casillas’ home, who was a family member.
According to the reports, the victim disclosed to authorities that Casillas, who had recently separated from her mother, sexually assaulted her twice and molested her multiple times over the past year. The incidents are alleged to have occurred at Casillas’ residence on Midland Road in Chillicothe and in Amanda in Fairfield County.
Last week, in a two-day trial, the Jury found Casillas guilty of Rape in the first degree and rape in the second degree. The court asked for a victim impact statement and a pre-sentencing investigation. The charges will come with an immediate child sex offender classification along with his jail sentence.
