COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ahead of the Big Ten Football Championship Game, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Indiana Governor Mike Braun have made a friendly wager on the outcome between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers.
The matchup features the nation’s top two teams and the only remaining undefeated FBS programs, with the conference title at stake this Saturday night in Indianapolis.
In the spirit of friendly competition, the governors have wagered locally made popcorn that highlights each state’s agricultural heritage.
Governor DeWine has put up Scarlet & Gray Vanilla Butternut Popcorn from Al’s Delicious Popcorn, a Columbus staple celebrating 40 years in business. “As the No. 1-ranked team in the nation, Ohio State has shown all season what hard work, discipline, and Buckeye determination look like,” said DeWine. “I have every confidence Coach Ryan Day and this team will finish strong and bring another Big Ten Championship back to Ohio. O-H!”
Governor Braun is wagering gourmet popcorn from Just Pop In!, an Indianapolis-based award-winning shop. “Let’s go, Hoosiers! IU has the grit to bring home the Big Ten football title right here in Indianapolis, and I like our chances,” Braun said.
The Big Ten Championship kicks off at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will be broadcast on FOX. The Ohio State Buckeyes are 4 to 4.5-point favorites in their upcoming Big Ten Championship game against the Indiana Hoosiers.
Fans across both states will be watching closely, hoping their team — and their governor’s popcorn — comes out on top.
