COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced the nomination of Lyndsay Nash as director of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) and Pickaway County resident Tia Marcel Moretti as director of the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH).

“Lyndsay and Tia are proven leaders that bring a wealth of knowledge to their respective agencies,” Governor DeWine said. “I have no doubt that they will lead their agencies with dedication and continue delivering results for Ohioans.”

Moretti, who lives in Pickaway County, brings more than 25 years of experience in community-based mental health, addiction services, and recovery systems. She most recently served as interim director of DBH and previously held the role of deputy director of RecoveryOhio in Governor DeWine’s office, where she played a key role in expanding access to prevention, treatment, and recovery services statewide.

In addition to her public service, Moretti is a licensed social worker, an Ohio certified prevention consultant, founder and CEO of the Ohio Institute for Substance Use Disorder Excellence, and formerly served as associate vice president of behavioral health integration at CareSource.

As director of DBH, Moretti will oversee Ohio’s statewide behavioral health system, focusing on ensuring Ohioans have access to high-quality mental health and addiction services that help them get well, stay well, and thrive.

Moretti’s nomination was praised by the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, which highlighted her long-standing commitment to suicide prevention efforts across the state.

“As someone who has known and worked with Director Moretti on the issue of suicide prevention for several years, OSPF wishes her the very best in her new role,” said Tony Coder, CEO of the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation. “We look forward to supporting her and the Governor in their mission to continue creating a strong and accessible system of care for all Ohioans.”

Meanwhile, Nash has dedicated her career to public service and currently serves as interim director of DODD. Her background includes roles as in-house counsel, director of compliance, and assistant director at DODD, as well as earlier work with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the Ohio Dental Board. Nash holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a juris doctorate from Michigan State University.

Both nominations require confirmation by the Ohio Senate.
