CHILLICOTHE, OH — Authorities are investigating a high-speed vehicle theft after three Chevrolet Corvettes were stolen early Tuesday morning from a Chillicothe auto business in a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood heist.

According to law enforcement reports, the theft occurred at Chillicothe Trucks, Inc., located at 173 Renick Avenue. The trio of high-performance sports cars—one red, one blue, and one black—were reportedly stolen around 2 a.m. and were seen speeding northbound on U.S. Route 23, heading toward Columbus.

A Pickaway County deputy traveling southbound spotted the three vehicles on US-23 and quickly reported the sighting. A BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was then issued to area law enforcement agencies after the sighting.

Shortly after, a Commercial Point police officer located one of the stolen Corvettes disabled on U.S. 23 near State Route 762. The vehicle’s headlights were initially on but were turned off as the officer approached. Officer Miller entered the vehicle to investigate and determined it may have run out of fuel.

The car was later confirmed by Chillicothe Police as one of the vehicles stolen from Chillicothe Trucks, Inc., and was towed to a secure facility for further investigation by CPD detectives.

The case remains under active investigation, and the whereabouts of the remaining two Corvettes are still unknown. The theft is being investigated as Receiving Stolen Property, a fourth-degree felony under Ohio Revised Code 2913.51.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Chillicothe Police or the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
