A GoFundMe fundraiser has quickly raised more than $137,000 to help the family of Capt. Seth Koval in the days following his death, according to the campaign page. The fundraiser, titled “Honoring Capt. Seth Koval’s Legacy and Family,” has drawn contributions from more than 1,200 donors toward a $210,000 goal. You can find the official fundraiser here.
The campaign was created by friend and organizer Gregory Wlazlowski, who says all proceeds will go directly to Capt. Koval’s wife and young son to assist with current and future financial needs.
A statement posted by the Koval family alongside the link describes the “unimaginable” impact of their loss. “Our world was shattered two days ago,” the message reads, adding that there is “nothing that can prepare you to receive news that you’ve lost the love of your life.” The family said they are grateful for the outpouring of support as they try to “pick up the pieces and move forward.”
Capt. Koval was remembered as an exceptional husband, father, son, brother, friend, and Airman who loved what he did and was proud to serve. According to the family, he grew up dreaming of becoming a pilot, and supporting him in that dream was “an honor.” The statement noted his kind heart, generosity, devotion, and faith.
The fundraiser organizer highlighted that all funds go directly to Koval’s immediate family, and the campaign has been shared widely as people seek to honor his legacy and support his loved ones during this difficult time.
