DETROIT (June 20, 2025) – Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 2,300 of its 2025 Super Duty pickup trucks and is urging owners not to drive them until repairs are made, citing a risk of sudden brake failure.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the issue involves a missing retaining spring in the brake booster pushrod. Without the spring, the pushrod can detach from the brake pedal, potentially leading to an unexpected loss of braking ability.
The recall affects 2,345 vehicles, including the F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty models, all built between March 19 and May 4, 2025.
Ford says the fix is straightforward—dealerships will inspect and repair the brake pedal assembly at no cost to owners, as required by federal law. However, until the repairs are complete, the automaker is urging owners not to drive the affected vehicles due to the risk of serious crashes.
Owner notification letters began going out June 18. Ford customers with questions can call 866-436-7332 and reference recall number 25C26, or check their vehicle’s status through NHTSA’s online recall lookup tool.
