
CHILLICOTHE, OH – July 6, 2025 — Fireworks celebrations turned destructive late Saturday night when multiple vehicles were reportedly damaged on South Brownell Street.
According to the Chillicothe Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 42 block of South Brownell Street at approximately 10:47 p.m. on July 5 after receiving reports of fireworks causing damage to parked vehicles.
The incident is being investigated as criminal damaging and endangering, specifically involving reckless use of fire, explosions, or other hazardous conditions. No injuries were reported at the scene, but officers confirmed that several vehicles sustained damage.
Although fireworks are legal in Ohio on July 5, the City of Chillicothe has passed a resolution banning them from the city.
The case remains under active investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with information or video footage from the area to come forward.
