STOUTSVILLE, Ohio — Fire crews from multiple departments responded early Wednesday morning to a commercial fire at a privately owned grain storage facility on Railroad Street in Stoutsville.
According to the Clearcreek Township Fire Department, the call came in around 7:00 a.m., reporting smoke at the site. When Engine 513 arrived, firefighters found moderate smoke coming from a 900-bushel tower dryer.

After completing a full inspection of the scene, crews discovered a hole at the back of the dryer where flames were visible. A working fire assignment was immediately initiated, bringing assistance from seven neighboring departments.
Over the next three hours, firefighters worked to contain and extinguish the blaze, successfully preventing it from spreading beyond the dryer unit.
No injuries were reported, and damage was limited to the dryer itself.
In a statement, Clearcreek Township Fire officials expressed appreciation to the assisting departments and Box 65, who provided food and hydration support to crews on scene.
