
Piketon, OH – A Fairfield County woman died following a two-vehicle crash on State Route 32 at US 23 in Pike County on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
According to the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:10 P.M. Paul W. Taylor, 79, of Canal Winchester, was southbound on US 23 exiting onto State Route 32 in a 2018 Kia Cadenza when he failed to yield at a stop sign. His vehicle was struck by a westbound 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 34-year-old Justin T. Gill of Beaver.
Both Mr. Taylor and his passenger, Wilma J. Taylor, 78, were airlifted to Grant Medical Center. Wilma Taylor later succumbed to her injuries. Mr. Taylor was treated for injuries, and Gill’s juvenile passenger was transported to Adena Pike Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Gill himself was treated at the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Assistance at the scene was provided by Seal Township Fire Department, Portsmouth Ambulance, and the Piketon Police Department.
