LANCASTER, Ohio — The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Rick Eugene Hawley, a 59 year old maintenance worker at Lakeview RV park campground located at 2715 Sugar Grove Road, on charges related to multiple allegations of sexual abuse involving minors, Sheriff Alex W. Lape announced on July 2, 2025.
The investigation began following a report of inappropriate touching involving Hawley. A forensic interview with a victim was conducted at the Harcum House Child Advocacy Center (CAC). On June 17, 2025, additional victims were interviewed at the CAC, where they disclosed multiple incidents of alleged sexual abuse occurring on several occasions.
Hawley was first arrested without incident on June 11, 2025, and charged with one count of Sexual Imposition under Ohio Revised Code 2907.06. On July 2, 2025, he was arrested again and charged with one count of Rape under Ohio Revised Code 2907.02.
The investigation remains active, and due to the sensitive nature of the case involving child victims, no further details are being released at this time. Sheriff Lape emphasized that there is no known threat to the general public. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with additional information to contact them at (740) 652-7339, noting that tips can be provided anonymously.
