
CHILLICOTHE, OH — Chillicothe police officers responded to a series of incidents across the city on Thursday, January 8, ranging from disorderly conduct and theft complaints to traffic stops and a reported impaired driver, according to the department’s daily media report.
The day began around 6:55 a.m. when officers were dispatched to 17 ½ South Rose Street for a report of disorderly conduct. That investigation remains pending. Shortly afterward, officers conducted traffic stops on North Paint Street and near Yoctangee Park, including one stop that resulted in a driver under suspension investigation.
Mid-morning calls included reports of criminal mischief and an attempted breaking and entering, as well as another disorderly conduct complaint on Church Street. Police also handled a warrant-related incident on North Paint Street before noon.
Around 12:03 p.m., officers responded to an accident report, followed later in the afternoon by a disturbance at Save-A-Lot on East Main Street, where a suspect was accused of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct while intoxicated, creating a risk to others.
Additional traffic enforcement occurred later in the day, including a stop on North Bridge Street near Rally’s for failure to obey traffic control devices. Police were also dispatched to Kohl’s on River Trace Lane for a reported theft and to East Second Street for a criminal trespass complaint connected to another theft investigation.
During the evening hours, officers responded to a report of a reckless driver near Arch Street and North High Street, which was investigated as a potential OVI. Later calls included a theft complaint, a domestic violence report on Ohio Avenue, and a traffic citation for an unobstructed license plate.
The night concluded with officers responding to Pickens Avenue for another disorderly conduct call. A report was taken, and no further action was required.
In total, 18 incidents were logged by the Chillicothe Police Department on January 8. Several investigations remain ongoing, and additional details have not yet been released.
