Disorderly Conduct Arrest, Crash with Injuries Among Incidents in Chillicothe Police Report

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A variety of incidents including an arrest, a traffic crash with minor injuries, and a non-suspicious death were reported in the latest daily report from the Chillicothe Police Department for March 19, 2026.

One of the more notable incidents occurred on Jefferson Avenue, where officers responded to reports of a suspicious person yelling and waving his arms in the roadway. Police made contact with Corey Moore, who was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Ross County Jail and held on an intoxication hold.

Crash Leads to Citation, Minor Injury

Police also responded to a rear-end crash on North Bridge Street near Pawnee Road. According to the report, a southbound driver failed to stop for traffic, striking another vehicle. A passenger in the second vehicle complained of head and neck pain but declined medical transport.

The at-fault driver was cited for assured clear distance ahead (ACDA) and given a court date in early April.

Death Investigation Underway

Officers were dispatched to an apartment on Columbus Street for a reported death. Authorities say the incident is being treated as non-suspicious, but the investigation remains ongoing.

Other Incidents Reported

Additional calls throughout the day included:

  • A threats complaint on West Main Street, which remains under investigation
  • A trespassing complaint on North Bridge Street that is still being investigated
  • A separate criminal trespass call on South Paint Street that was resolved without further action
  • Two traffic stops on North Paint Street for stop sign violations
  • An animal cruelty complaint on West Water Street, currently under investigation
  • A dog bite incident on Riverside Street
  • A domestic violence call on Cherokee Road
  • A late-night reckless driving/trespass complaint at a business on North Bridge Street

Police say investigations are ongoing in several of the reported incidents.
