WHITE PLAINS, NY / LOUISVILLE, CO — July 14, 2025
Danone U.S. has issued a voluntary recall of its popular YoCrunch® yogurt products after reports of plastic pieces found in the dome toppers—the compartment that contains candy or granola mix-ins. The recall, announced in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), affects all flavors and sizes of YoCrunch® currently on store shelves nationwide.
The company cited the potential choking hazard posed by sharp-edged, transparent plastic fragments measuring between 7 to 25 mm in length. While the yogurt itself is not affected, the contaminated pieces were found in the dome topping compartment, which is sold separately but packaged together with the yogurt.
Consumer Complaints Prompt Action
Several customer complaints alerted Danone to the issue. As a precaution, the company began pulling the products from retail locations on July 11, and encouraged customers to stop consuming the affected items immediately.
Danone U.S. emphasized that consumer safety remains a top priority:
“We are conducting this recall in accordance with our commitment to product quality and consumer safety,” the company said in its statement.
Products and UPC Codes Affected
The recall includes multiple variations of YoCrunch®, including favorites with M&M’s®, OREO®, Snickers®, Twix®, and cookie dough toppings. Products were sold in single-serve 6 oz containers, multi-packs of 4 x 4 oz, and family-sized 8 x 6 oz and 18 x 6 oz club packs.

Danone is currently working with retailers to remove affected products from store shelves and says efforts are underway to resolve the issue and resume distribution of its YoCrunch® line.
