WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Dave Taylor (OH-02) announced he has secured nearly $17 million in federal funding for 13 community-driven projects across Ohio’s Second Congressional District — including a major $4 million infrastructure investment in Pickaway County.
The funding comes through Congress’s Fiscal Year 2026 Community Project Funding process and is aimed at strengthening infrastructure, public safety, healthcare, and economic development throughout southern Ohio.
“When I took the oath of office, I promised to advocate for the needs of Ohioans who have had to make do with far too little for far too long,” Taylor said. “Each of these 13 local projects is the result of year-long conversations with local leaders, law enforcement, first responders, and service organizations about where federal dollars could make the greatest impact.”
Pickaway County Highlight: $4 Million for SR 762/Rickenbacker Parkway Roundabout
Among the largest allocations is $4 million for the Pickaway County Port Authority to construct a new roundabout and turn-lane improvements at the intersection of State Route 762 and Rickenbacker Parkway.
The project is designed to address increasing congestion tied to economic growth in the area. Construction will include grading, resurfacing, concrete work, traffic control infrastructure, improved lighting, signage, and road markings. Funding will also support traffic management during construction to reduce disruptions.
Officials say the roundabout will improve traffic flow while enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians in one of the county’s growing development corridors.
Healthcare and Emergency Services Investments
Several healthcare providers across the district will receive significant upgrades:
- Adena Health will receive $750,000 to expand its EMS transport fleet with two fully equipped ambulances.
- Holzer Health System will receive $999,000 to modernize its pathology and microbiology labs.
- Clermont County Coroner’s Office will receive $400,800 to establish and expand forensic lab capabilities, including ballistic and digital evidence analysis.
Water and Infrastructure Improvements Across the District
Multiple communities will receive funding for critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects:
- Brown County Rural Water Association – $2 million for a 2-million-gallon water tower.
- City of Logan – $1.25 million for water treatment upgrades and a new 500,000-gallon tower.
- Village of Winchester – $1.25 million for water treatment plant expansion.
- Village of McArthur – $1 million for waterline replacements.
- Village of Williamsburg – $1 million for sewer system expansion.
- Clinton County – $949,566 for wastewater treatment plant planning.
Public Safety and Community Development
- Wellston Police Department will receive $200,000 to upgrade to MARCS-compatible digital radio systems.
- City of Ironton will receive $1 million for Ohio Riverfront improvements to boost economic development and tourism.
Taylor said the projects were developed in partnership with local officials and stakeholders to ensure funding meets pressing regional needs.
“I look forward to seeing how these projects will improve the quality of life for Ohioans,” Taylor said. “I will continue working with local partners to deliver meaningful results to our communities.”
Congressman Taylor represents Ohio’s Second Congressional District, which includes Pickaway, Ross, Scioto, Adams, Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Gallia, Meigs, Pike, Highland, Vinton counties, and part of Fayette County.
