MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Columbus man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County over the weekend, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on Aug. 9 around 2:10 p.m. along state Route 674 near County Road 41 in Madison Township.
Investigators say a 2015 Ram 1500 pickup truck was heading south on Route 674 when the driver attempted to turn into a private driveway. A 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, traveling northbound, struck the truck during the turn.
The motorcyclist, identified as 73-year-old Johnny Hackney, was transported to Grant Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The pickup truck’s driver was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
