CIRCLEVILLE, OH — One of Circleville’s favorite Thanksgiving traditions is back. The annual Circleville Turkey Trot will hit the streets once again on Thanksgiving morning, bringing together runners and walkers of all ages to celebrate the season while supporting local efforts to combat hunger.

This year’s event will benefit two vital community organizations — the Emergency Clearinghouse Food Pantry and the Community Cupboards of Pickaway County — both of which work year-round to provide food and household essentials to local families in need.

In 2024, the Turkey Trot raised more than $8,700 for the PICCA Fresh Produce Market and drew 303 participants from seven states, ranging in age from 5 to 90. Organizers hope to see even more participants and donations this year.

The 5K race and walk begins at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, starting and finishing at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 129 W. Mound Street in Circleville. Early-bird registration is open through October 31 at a cost of $30.

“The Turkey Trot is such a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition — a way to come together, get moving, and give back,” said Jim Rocklin, Co-Chair of the Circleville Turkey Trot Committee. “It’s inspiring to see how our community shows up each year to make a difference for local food programs.”

The event’s success each year is made possible by local sponsors, including Elite Sponsors — The Savings Bank, Circleville Eagles, Pickaway Flooring Center, and the Circleville & Circleville Sunrise Rotary Clubs — and Premier Sponsors — Homeland Credit Union, Health Care Logistics, and Elsea Inc. Numerous other local businesses and organizations also contribute to the community-driven effort.
