CIRCLEVILLE, OH — September 5, 2025 — This year’s Circleville Pumpkin Show may be more colorful than ever as the festival coincides with the predicted peak of Ohio’s fall foliage season.
According to SmokyMountains.com, a vacation rental and travel site known nationally for its Fall Foliage Prediction Map, Pickaway County is expected to reach peak autumn colors around October 20, 2025—right in time for the Pumpkin Show.
The interactive map, which covers the entire United States, uses historical weather data, tree species distribution, precipitation, and user-submitted reports to predict when fall leaves will be at their brightest. Visitors can even submit real-time photos to help improve future forecasts.
Launched in 2013, the Smoky Mountains’ foliage map has become a go-to resource for travelers planning fall getaways. In addition to the map, the site offers educational resources on the science behind leaf changes, downloadable coloring sheets, and seasonal recipes.
While leaf predictions are not 100% precise due to variable weather patterns, forecasters say conditions look promising for a brilliant display of reds, oranges, and yellows just as thousands flock to Circleville for its annual celebration of pumpkins, parades, food, and fun.
