Circleville Police Respond to Traffic Stops, Theft, and Breaking & Entering on Jan. 22

Circleville police were busy throughout the day and overnight on Wednesday, January 22, responding to a wide range of calls that included traffic stops, suspicious activity, theft, and a reported breaking and entering.

According to the Circleville Police Department’s call-for-service log, officers conducted multiple extra patrols in neighborhoods across the city during the overnight hours, including areas along North Court Street, Wood Lane, Watt Street, Circle Lane, Lincoln Avenue, and Springhollow Road. All extra patrol checks were reported as clear.

Several traffic stops were made during the day, with officers issuing both citations and warnings along Lancaster Pike, South Pickaway Street, South Washington Street, and South Court Street.

Police also responded to a suspicious person call on West Union Street early Wednesday morning, though the individual was gone upon officers’ arrival. Later in the morning, another suspicious person call on Lancaster Pike was handled by another agency.

More serious incidents included a theft reported on Barnes Avenue and a threats and harassment complaint taken on Fairlawn Drive. Officers also documented a fight on Barry Drive late in the morning.

Additional calls throughout the day included a found property report on Stoneridge Drive, a juvenile complaint on West Ohio Street, a parking complaint on East Mound Street, and a disabled vehicle call that was checked and cleared.

The most serious incident of the day occurred in the early evening when officers responded to a breaking and entering complaint on Dunkle Road. A report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.

In total, Circleville police logged 32 calls for service on January 22.
