CIRCLEVILLE, OH — July 9, 2025 — Circleville Police had a busy day on Monday, July 8, responding to more than 30 calls for service across the city. Reports included everything from domestic disturbances and theft to vandalism and suspicious activity.

The day began just after midnight with officers dispatched to Logan Street for a report of suspicious circumstances. The individual was gone on arrival. Minutes later, extra patrols were requested on North Court Street and a drunk individual was reported on East Main Street, which led to a police report being taken. Multiple traffic stops occurred throughout the early morning hours, resulting in citations.

Officers also investigated several suspicious person calls, including two separate incidents on East Mill Street and one on East Main Street. One person was cleared after being checked, while others were gone when officers arrived. A well-being check on East Franklin Street and a trespassing call on South Court Street each led to reports being filed.

A reported theft on U.S. Route 23 South was among the day’s more serious incidents, followed by domestic trouble on East Ohio Street and juvenile complaints involving family matters on Sycamore Drive and East Ohio Street. Circleville Police requested assistance from another agency for one of the juvenile cases.

Throughout the day, police responded to several 911 hang-ups—none of which resulted in emergencies—and checked on alarms, civil issues, and road blockages.

Later in the evening, officers responded to multiple vandalism reports, including incidents on East Main Street and Walnut Street. A reported explosion on North Court Street drew attention but no report was taken. The Circleville Fire Department also provided mutual aid for a fire call on U.S. 23, where the situation was handled without transport.

The day concluded with a violation of a protection order on Logan Street. No report was taken in that instance.

In total, the Circleville Police Department handled 34 incidents on July 8, reflecting a broad spectrum of community needs and safety concerns.
