
CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Circleville police officers handled 26 calls for service on Monday, December 29, according to the department’s daily media call-for-service report, with incidents ranging from property damage and an injury crash to alarms, extra patrols and vehicle-related calls.
Officers conducted numerous extra patrols throughout the overnight and early morning hours across several neighborhoods, including Clark Drive, Edgewood Drive, Atwater Avenue, Northridge Road, East Circle Lane, South Pickaway Street, Rustic Court and Pontious Road. All extra patrol checks were cleared without incident.
Around 2:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on South Court Street. No report was taken. Later in the morning, police responded to an alarm drop related to fire or EMS activity on East Ohio Street, which was checked and cleared.
A property damage report was taken around 8:09 a.m. on East Mound Street. Officers also handled an accidental 911 call on South Court Street, though they were unable to locate anyone upon arrival.
Additional calls during the day included a parking complaint on East Franklin Street, a well-being check on Atwater Avenue, and a warrant-related call on U.S. 22 East, all of which were cleared without reports or with subjects unable to be located.
Police documented information-only calls involving vehicle repossessions on South Court Street and East Main Street. An injury crash was reported at approximately 4:09 p.m. on Watt Street, where officers took a formal report.
Later in the afternoon, officers responded to a traffic jam or roadblock on Montclair Avenue and a nature-unknown call on Cypress Road, which was handled by another agency. A reported fire call on U.S. 23, where Circleville Fire Department mutual aid was requested, was canceled prior to officers arriving on scene.
The day concluded with a 911 hang-up call on East Franklin Street, where information was obtained and no further action was required.
