CIRCLEVILLE, OH — Circleville police had a busy day on July 7, 2025, responding to more than 50 calls across the city, ranging from routine patrols and traffic stops to more serious incidents such as burglary, fraud, a warrant arrest, and even an aircraft crash.
Throughout the early morning hours, officers conducted numerous extra patrols on city streets including Faye Avenue, Rustic Drive, East Franklin Street, and U.S. Route 23, all of which checked out without incident. A well-being check and a repossession were also logged early in the morning.
One of the more alarming calls came just before 9:10 a.m., when an aircraft crash was reported near U.S. Route 23. That situation was ultimately turned over to another agency for investigation, which finalized the report as a dusting plane making manuvers and did not crash.
In the span of just a few hours later that morning, police took reports for two burglaries on North Court Street and East Main Street, a disturbance on South Court Street, and a fire on West Main Street, which was quickly contained.
Other notable incidents included:
- A fight on East Franklin Street (10:23 a.m.)
- Multiple fraud reports, including one on Hardwood Avenue
- A warrant arrest made on East Franklin Street at 5:44 p.m.
- Threats and harassment complaints on East Main Street and Villa Drive
- A natural gas or electric issue on Faye Avenue (7:30 p.m.)
Officers also responded to multiple alarm drops, all of which were found to be false or otherwise cleared, and several traffic stops, with warnings or citations issued along South Court Street, Clinton Street, and US-23.
A report was taken for found property on Hayward Street, and a suspicious person was checked on North Court Street shortly after 10:00 p.m. That individual was cleared after contact with officers.
Circleville police continue to handle a high volume of calls while maintaining proactive patrols throughout the city. No injuries were reported in connection with any of the day’s major incidents.
