Circleville, Ohio — The Circleville Police Department responded to 112 incidents between Friday, August 1 and Sunday, August 3, ranging from routine traffic stops and extra patrols to reports of thefts, fights, and a burglary in progress.
The weekend began with a series of overnight extra patrol checks on Harrison, Logan, and Main Streets in the early morning hours of Friday. Police also issued warnings during multiple traffic stops and responded to reports of threats and suspicious persons.
Later in the day on Friday, officers handled a reported assault on South Court Street, a juvenile complaint on Clinton Street, and a fight on Lancaster Pike. A suspicious person seen on North Court Street earlier in the morning was transported to the hospital by medics.
Saturday, August 2, included a report of a drunk driver on East Union Street, multiple juvenile complaints, and several wellbeing checks — including one that resulted in a hospital transport from Clark Drive. Officers also responded to a fraud report on Town Street, threats and harassment on East Franklin Street, and a theft on U.S. Route 23.
The pace didn’t slow on Sunday. Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress on North Court Street at 1:12 a.m., followed closely by a suspicious person call on East High Street and a fight that was gone on arrival. A fire on Northridge Road led to a report being taken, and another fire call on U.S. Route 23 required mutual aid from the Circleville Fire Department. Sunday also saw a non-injury traffic accident on West Main Street and a citation issued for a traffic stop on East Main Street in the evening.
Throughout the weekend, police responded to numerous 911 hang-ups, civil disputes, animal calls, noise complaints, and disabled vehicles.
While many incidents were resolved without reports, the Circleville Police Department remained actively engaged in maintaining public safety across the city during the three-day span.
