CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department released its latest calls-for-service report, detailing a busy stretch of activity from December 31, 2025, through January 4, 2026, as officers handled nearly 140 incidents across the city during the New Year’s holiday period.

Police responded to a wide range of calls, including thefts, traffic crashes, domestic disturbances, welfare checks, alarms, and multiple arrests, along with dozens of extra patrols and business checks aimed at increased visibility during overnight hours.

Among the more serious incidents reported:

  • Multiple thefts were reported on East Main Street, West Ohio Street, and other locations throughout the city.
  • Officers investigated several domestic trouble calls, including incidents on Mace Drive, Lancaster Pike, and South Court Street.
  • Traffic-related incidents included both injury and non-injury crashes, with citations issued in several cases on streets such as South Court Street, East Main Street, and Mingostreet.
  • Arrests were made in connection with traffic stops and trespassing complaints, including a trespassing arrest on East Main Street just before midnight on January 1.
  • A dog bite was reported on Watt Street, and officers also took reports involving threats, harassment, property damage, and stolen vehicles.

In addition to criminal complaints, officers conducted numerous well-being checks, responded to 911 hang-up calls, assisted with fire and EMS mutual aid requests, and handled utility-related calls involving natural gas and electric concerns.

Police also logged a significant number of extra patrols and alarm drops, particularly in residential neighborhoods such as Northridge Road, Edgewood Drive, Rustic Court, Springhollow Road, and Circle Lane, with most of those checks reported as secure.

Circleville police say investigations are ongoing in several cases and remind residents to report suspicious activity promptly and to use 911 only for emergencies.
