Circleville Police Respond to Burglary, Assault, and Stolen Vehicle in Busy Day of Calls

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (April 3, 2026) — The Circleville Police Department responded to a wide range of incidents across the city on April 2, including a reported burglary in progress, an assault leading to an arrest, and a stolen vehicle case among dozens of calls for service.

According to the department’s daily media report, officers handled 56 total incidents throughout the day, ranging from routine patrols to more serious criminal activity.

One of the most significant calls came just after 2:30 a.m. on Avon Drive, where officers responded to a burglary in progress. A report was taken, though additional details about suspects or arrests were not immediately released.

Later in the morning, at approximately 10:22 a.m. on Villa Drive, officers made an arrest in connection with an assault. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the individual involved.

Police also investigated a theft on North Pickaway Street just before noon, as well as a stolen vehicle report on East Mound Street around 8:18 p.m. Both incidents remain under investigation.

Throughout the day, officers responded to several other notable calls, including:

  • Multiple traffic stops, some resulting in warnings and at least one citation
  • A non-injury crash on Lancaster Pike where a citation was issued
  • Reports of vandalism, fraud, and property damage
  • Several juvenile complaints and disturbance calls
  • A threats and harassment complaint on Watt Street

Police also conducted numerous extra patrols during overnight hours, all of which were reported as “checked okay.”

In addition, officers responded to multiple 911 hang-ups and accidental calls, along with several reports of suspicious persons or vehicles, many of which were gone upon arrival.
