CIRCLEVILLE — Officers with the Circleville Police Department handled 28 calls for service on Feb. 17, according to the department’s daily media report.

Among the more serious incidents, police took a report of a breaking and entering complaint in the 12000 block of U.S. Route 23 shortly before 12:45 p.m. on Morris Road. Details about the incident were not immediately released, and the case remains under investigation.

Later in the afternoon, officers responded to a property damage complaint on Fairview Boulevard around 5:38 p.m., where a report was taken.

Police also investigated a miscellaneous complaint on East Franklin Street and a trespassing complaint on Watt Street, which was determined to be a civil matter.

Throughout the day, officers conducted multiple extra patrols across the city, including on East Main Street, Clark Drive, Springhollow Road, East Mill Street and South Court Street. All were checked and found to be OK.

Two traffic stops — on North Court Street and South Washington Street — resulted in warnings being issued. Another stop on Lewis Avenue also ended with a warning.

Officers handled several 911 hang-up calls on U.S. Route 23 and East Ohio Street. One was referred to another agency, and the other was unable to locate the caller upon arrival.

Additional calls included a parking complaint on Chatham Court, a juvenile complaint on Harrison Street, a fraud complaint on Kingston Court, and neighbor trouble on Villa Drive. In several of those cases, officers were unable to locate individuals involved or gathered information without filing a formal report.

Police also responded to a well-being check on Pleasant Street, where emergency medical personnel were dispatched. Another well-being check on Avon Drive was found to be OK.

An early morning alarm drop on East Main Street resulted in a report being taken.

The department continues routine patrols and encourages residents to report suspicious activity.
