CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The Circleville Police Department handled 39 calls for service on Tuesday, September 30, according to the daily media log.

The day began just after midnight with a disturbance reported on North Pickaway Street, though no report was taken. A short time later, officers checked a 911 hang-up on West Ohio Street, which turned out okay.

Through the early morning hours, police conducted numerous extra patrols across the city, including North Court Street, Hayward Avenue, Morris Road, U.S. 23, Clinton Street, West Main Street, South Pickaway Street, East Corwin Street, and East Mound Street. One call involved a suspicious person on Morris Road, which was also found to be clear.

At 5:33 a.m., officers took a theft report on Dunhurst Street. Later that morning, police responded to a disturbance on North Court Street, an accidental 911 call on East Franklin Street, and a traffic jam and roadblock on East Main Street that was referred to another agency.

Officers also investigated suspicious circumstances and an alarm drop on East Union Street, taking one report for harassment on South Washington Street. Around 1:30 p.m., a burglary in progress was reported on East Mill Street, though no report was taken.

Throughout the afternoon, officers took reports for found property on Kingston Pike and Rustic Drive, as well as suspicious circumstances on North Court Street. They also responded to a fire/EMS alarm drop on North Court Street, handled a traffic offense on Ashville Fairfield Road, and cited drivers in two separate injury accidents — one on Kingston Pike and another on U.S. Route 23.

Other calls included a homeless person on East Main Street, a fire department complaint on Walnut Street, a well-being check on Ray Avenue, and a drunk driver on Northridge Road, though the suspect was gone upon arrival.

The night concluded with a suspicious vehicle on Lancaster Pike, which was also gone when officers arrived, and an extra patrol on South Pickaway Street before midnight.

In total, Circleville Police recorded 39 service calls, ranging from routine patrols and alarm drops to theft, harassment, and two traffic crashes with injuries.
