CIRCLEVILLE — A traffic stop on Dunmore Road led to the arrest of a local man on multiple drug charges on October 31, 2025.

According to Circleville Police, officers observed a 2010 black Ford Fusion with expired tags make a nearly collision-causing turn at the intersection of Walnut and South Court streets. The vehicle was then followed as it turned onto Dunmore Road, where police initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, later identified as Gary Giffin Jr., reportedly exited the vehicle and refused repeated commands to remain inside. Officers restrained Giffin after a brief struggle, noting that he admitted to having Percocet on his person.

A subsequent search confirmed that Giffin was in possession of 43 Vicodin and 20 Percocet pills, both classified as Schedule II substances. The quantity of Vicodin elevated the charge to a second-degree felony, while the Percocet charge is a third-degree felony.

Giffin also had an active warrant with the Circleville Police Department at the time of the stop. He was cited for expired tags under Ohio law and transported to the Pickaway County Jail.

The traffic stop and arrest were documented using department-issued body cameras, and the seized narcotics have been logged as evidence.

Police emphasized that Giffin’s arrest demonstrates the department’s ongoing commitment to public safety and drug enforcement in Circleville.
