Circleville, OH – The Circleville Tigers wrapped up their regular season on a high note, defeating Amanda-Clearcreek Aces 59-48 on Thursday, snapping the Aces’ late-season winning streak and finishing the season with an impressive 18-4 overall record.

The victory marked an 11-1 run through the league for the Tigers, who celebrated by cutting down the championship nets after the final buzzer. Circleville dominated much of the game, outscoring Amanda-Clearcreek in the first three quarters and holding off a late push by the Aces.

Junior Addison Edgington led the Tigers with 23 points and 14 rebounds, continuing her standout season where she averages 20.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game, well above the national averages. Senior Maddie Blakeman added 7 points while contributing 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and sophomore M. McConnell chipped in 5 points on efficient shooting.

The Tigers were perfect at home this season with a 10-0 home record, and their strong conference play cemented their position as one of the top teams in the division. Two of their losses come from local play a loss against Teays Valley, and one against Logan Elm.

The Aces, who finish the season 9-13 overall and 5-7 in the conference, were led in scoring by their top contributors but couldn’t overcome the Tigers’ size and depth.

With this win, Circleville caps a season of dominant play and looks to carry momentum into the postseason. The Circleville (OH) varsity basketball team has a home tournament game vs. Gallia Academy (Gallipolis, OH) Blue Devils on Thursday, February 19 @ 7p.
