Michael Mankin, artist of "manipulated photography"

Chillicothe — This weekend is your last chance to see a one-man show of “manipulated photography” at the Pump House art gallery, before another show opens next week…and after renovations of the building and landscaping.

October’s show in Chillicothe’s free art gallery, the Pump House Center for the Arts, has been “It’s a Beautiful Day to Be Strange and Off-putting” by local artist Michael Mankin.

Hear Mankin explains his art and some of his works in the below video interview, and see some snapshots of the show. The Pump House is open 11 to 6 today.

Then opening at 6:30 on Thursday, November 6th, is “Brushstrokes of the Ohio Valley” with the art of Paul Brown and Ross Wheeler.

Also at 6 to 7pm the next day, Friday, November 7th, is another visit by a barn artist in “An Evening with Robert Kroeger.”

And – the re-landscaping is completed, after the “Fix the Bricks” campaign got the exterior of the 1880s Victorian pumping station renovated.

Watch for other events to warm up the holiday season.

The Pump House Center for the Arts is closed Mondays, but open most other days at least 11 to 4. Learn more on their Facebook page and website
