Chillicothe — Morning Rotary hosted their last “First Thursday” street party of the season, and they have plans for the money they raised through the events and their golf outing.
I managed to get to the first block of East Second Street and the Majestic Courtyard in time for dinner and a drink on August 7th, and interviewed their president, Robin Berno.
Berno said they had gotten great support for the “Food Truck First Thursdays,” and have raised $20K to $22K from the three summer events and their golf outing.
That will be spent on covering the need of students in a Ross County school, a “Socktober” event where they will donate socks, as well as helping to get the old painted sign at the Majestic Courtyard restored.
Hear her in her own words, as well get a look at the First Thursday, below.
Rotary is one of the largest service organizations in the world. Two Rotary Clubs meet in Chillicothe: Noon Rotary meets on alternate Mondays at the Chillicothe Country Club, and “First Capital” Morning Rotary meets at 7am every Thursday in Chillicothe’s Pump House Center for the Arts.
