
CHILLICOTHE —
Chillicothe – Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Haley K. L. Shreck was recently chosen
by her peers to represent the Chillicothe Post as the Trooper of the Year. Upon her
selection as the Post Trooper of the year, she completed an interview with leadership
personnel from the Jackson District and was selected as the Jackson District Trooper of
the Year. She is now in contention to be selected as the State Trooper of the Year which
will be announced at a later date.
The Jackson District consists of six patrol posts including the Athens, Chillicothe,
Gallipolis, Ironton, Jackson, and Portsmouth Post. Haley’s District Trooper of the Year
selection is a result of a review of her accomplishments over the previous year, community
involvement, and oral interview.
The selection of Trooper Shreck, age 29, is in recognition of outstanding service during
2025 at the Chillicothe Post and Jackson District. Trooper Shreck was selected for this
award because of her enthusiastic work attitude, leadership abilities, community
engagement, and her level of professionalism with her supervisors, peers, and the public.
Trooper Shreck has received the Criminal Patrol Award in 2024 and 2025, the ACE Award
in 2022, 2024 and 2025. She received the Master Trooper recognition in 2025.
Trooper Shreck joined the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2017 and was a member of the
162nd Academy Class. Upon her graduation, Trooper Shreck has served at the Springfield
Post, Xenia Post, Wilmington Post, Batavia Post, and Chillicothe Post. Trooper Shreck
attended Valley High School in Scioto County. Trooper Shreck lives in Lithopolis, Ohio.
