
CHILLICOTHE, OH – Chillicothe police officers were kept busy throughout the day on May 29, 2025, responding to more than two dozen incidents ranging from drug possession and theft to disorderly conduct and a non-suspicious death.
Among the most notable reports:
- A detective in an unmarked vehicle conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 23 near the Franklin/Pickaway County line, resulting in a felony drug possession case involving a Schedule I or II controlled substance.
- Multiple theft complaints were reported, including vehicle break-ins on S. Hickory St. and McKeller St., and a shoplifting incident at 1400 N. Bridge Street. An investigation is ongoing in each case.
- Officers were dispatched to Walmart after receiving a report from Detective Chris Culbertson concerning another theft incident at the store.
- Police handled several disorderly conduct and trespassing calls, including an early-morning incident at the Foulke Block on S. Paint Street, a criminal trespass at the Valero gas station, and a domestic dispute on Dayton Street.
- A counterfeit bill complaint was logged on Western Avenue, categorized under criminal simulation, with investigations continuing.
- In addition, two separate warrant-related arrests were made—one at the Ross County Jail and another on N. Bridge Street.
- A report of identity fraud was made by a Texas resident who contacted local authorities regarding a theft at Aaron’s Rent All, 617 Central Center.
- Several non-criminal reports involving parking issues were also logged across various streets including Scioto Avenue, 4th Street, and Maple Avenue.
- Officers issued citations for traffic violations, including running a red light, operating a vehicle without registration, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
- Police responded to a crash at the Subway at 801 Western Avenue, citing Assured Clear Distance Ahead (ACDA) violations.
- Tragically, the day ended with officers dispatched to 25 Club Drive for a report of an unresponsive female. The incident has been categorized as a non-suspicious death, with the investigation ongoing.
In total, 24 incidents were documented throughout the city over the course of the day, reflecting a busy shift for Chillicothe law enforcement.
