Chillicothe Police Respond to Variety of Incidents Wednesday

Chillicothe police and emergency crews responded to a wide range of calls throughout the city on February 11, including traffic offenses, suspected drug activity, domestic disputes, and two reported deaths.

Officers were first dispatched at 1:22 a.m. to the Quality Inn on North Plaza after Chillicothe Fire Department’s Medic 3 requested assistance. The incident was classified as non-criminal.

At 6:44 a.m., police were called to the 1100 block of East Main Street after a driver was reported passed out behind the wheel. The individual was investigated for drug paraphernalia and having physical control of a vehicle while impaired. The investigation is ongoing.

Later in the morning at 8:38 a.m., officers responded to the Law Enforcement Complex on West 7th Street regarding a possible fraud complaint. That investigation remains pending.

Police conducted multiple traffic stops throughout the day. At 9:56 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on East Water Street at Bridge Street for driving while texting. Another stop occurred at 10:51 a.m. on East Water Street near Paint Street for a license plate violation.

Around noon, officers were dispatched to 56 E. Main St. in reference to a suspicious person. The incident led to an investigation involving disorderly conduct while intoxicated and obstructing official business. That case remains under investigation.

Domestic-related calls made up several afternoon responses. At 12:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment on Old Eastern Avenue in reference to a domestic dispute. The case involves allegations of assault and domestic violence.

At 3:04 p.m., police and emergency crews responded to 580 E. 4th Street for a report of a non-breather. The matter was classified as non-criminal.

Another domestic dispute was reported at 4:21 p.m. in the 600 block of East 2nd Street. The incident involves an allegation of unlawful restraint. The investigation is ongoing.

Police were also called to 265 S. Mulberry St. at 5:16 p.m. in reference to a possible death. Authorities later determined the death to be non-suspicious. The investigation remains ongoing.

Shortly after, at 5:21 p.m., officers responded to Hopewell Health Center on Western Avenue for a motor vehicle crash involving a marked lanes violation. That crash remains under investigation.

In total, the Chillicothe Police Department logged 12 reports on February 11. Several investigations remain active.
