Chillicothe Police Respond to Variety of Incidents on July 14, Including Missing Person, Shoplifting, and Drug Arrest

CHILLICOTHE, OH — July 15, 2025
Chillicothe Police officers handled 19 separate incidents across the city on Monday, July 14, ranging from missing persons and shoplifting to a stolen vehicle and a drug-related arrest.

Early Morning Activity
Shortly after midnight, officers responded to E. 4th Street following reports of a possible missing person. Later, around 3:50 a.m., police investigated a suspicious person near Aldi on North Bridge Street. At 4:55 a.m., a woman turned herself in at a North Paint Street address on an active warrant.

Traffic Stops and Trespassing
A traffic stop near Marietta Road led to an ongoing investigation related to failure to signal while changing lanes. Around 7:30 a.m., Wendy’s on East Main Street requested a woman be barred from the property for criminal trespassing following a disturbance.

At nearly the same time, officers responded to a behavioral emergency at the Law Enforcement Complex (LEC), and a possible DOA call on South Mulberry Street, both of which remain under investigation.

Midday Reports: Theft, Dog Bite, and Hit-Skip
A shoplifting complaint at Walmart around 8:45 a.m. triggered an investigation. At 10:46 a.m., officers were dispatched to Gilmore Street for a dog bite complaint. A private property hit-skip accident was also reported just before 12:30 p.m. at River Trace Lane.

Later, a disturbance call on Lincoln Avenue was logged as another trespassing complaint, while a separate shoplifting report came in from River Trace Lane around 2 p.m.

Evening Activity: Stolen Property, Drugs, and a Stolen Vehicle
Police served multiple warrants throughout the day, including one at the Ross County Jail and another on East 2nd Street, which also resulted in a drug possession arrest.

A report of receiving stolen property was made on Mosher Drive after a citizen flagged down an officer to report a spray-painted Ross County Public Library bicycle spotted on East Main Street.

Around 9:52 p.m., police responded to a non-injury traffic accident on North Bridge Street, and just before 10 p.m., a stolen vehicle was reported on North Poplar Street
