
CHILLICOTHE, OH — June 13, 2025
The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a wide range of incidents throughout the city on Wednesday, June 12, according to its daily media log. Officers investigated more than two dozen cases, including drug possession, traffic violations, crashes, warrants, and more serious allegations such as theft and child endangerment.
Traffic Stops and Drug Possession
Shortly after midnight, police stopped a vehicle on the US 35 westbound ramp to SR 104. A second traffic stop around 1:44 a.m. on South Walnut Street led to a drug possession investigation involving a Schedule I or II substance. Both cases remain under investigation.
Child Endangerment Reported
A report of potential child endangerment was filed on River Trace Lane at 8 a.m. Officers noted that the investigation is ongoing.
Vehicle Accidents and Traffic Citations
Officers responded to multiple crashes throughout the day, including on East Main Street, North Bridge Street, and North High Street. Notably, Dong Kim was cited for failure to yield while turning left at Foxtrail Road and Bridge Street, with a court date set for June 30.

Traffic enforcement also resulted in several citations being issued for violations such as driving under suspension (DUS), obstructing intersections, disobeying traffic control devices, and weaving. One driver, William Jones, was cited for DUS and was found driving a vehicle with mismatched plates on North Bridge Street.
Criminal Offenses and Warrants
Police made arrests on multiple warrants throughout the day. One suspect was taken into custody at McArthur Gardens for criminal trespassing and obstructing official business. Later, Ashley Spangler was arrested at the same location on outstanding warrants related to disorderly conduct and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Ross County Jail and is being held pending a court appearance.
Disorderly Conduct and False Reports
A disorderly conduct complaint was reported on South Hickory Street, and officers also investigated a false domestic violence report on Anderson Station Road.
Theft at Walmart and Hit-Skip Incident
Around 8:30 p.m., police responded to Walmart on River Trace Lane for a suspected theft in progress. Later that evening, a hit-skip crash was reported on Allen Avenue, with the investigation continuing in both incidents.
Motorcycle Violation Ends Busy Day
The final reported incident of the day occurred just before midnight, when an individual was stopped on South McArthur Street for operating a motorcycle without the required endorsement or proper licensing.
