Chillicothe Police Respond to Trespasses, Warrants, OVI and Multiple Crashes

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police officers responded to a variety of calls throughout the city on February 13, including trespassing complaints, theft reports, traffic crashes, warrants, and an OVI arrest.

Early Morning Incidents

Shortly after 2 a.m., officers were dispatched to 46 W. 6th Street in reference to a criminal trespass complaint. Minutes later, police responded to 574 E. Water Street for a report of a disorderly intoxicated individual.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., officers were called to Trippie’s Laundromat on South Walnut Street regarding a reported vandalism and trespassing complaint.

Theft and Traffic Complaints

Later in the morning, police responded to the Law Enforcement Complex on North Bridge Street for a theft complaint involving allegations of theft without consent and deception to obtain a dangerous drug.

Officers were also dispatched to the area of Elm and Arch streets for a parking complaint involving a vehicle parked on the roadway.

A hit-skip crash was reported on East Main Street around 10:25 a.m., and a separate crash investigation was conducted on West 2nd Street later in the afternoon. Investigations into both incidents remain ongoing.

Warrants and Business Complaints

Police served multiple warrants throughout the day. One warrant was served mid-morning, while another incident on North Bridge Street involved a male reportedly refusing to leave a business near East 2nd Street.

Officers also responded to a theft complaint at the AMOCO station at 228 N. Bridge Street. That investigation is ongoing.

Late in the evening, officers were dispatched to Speedway at 10 N. Bridge Street, where a man with an active warrant reportedly turned himself in.

OVI Arrest

At approximately 6:57 p.m., officers responded to a non-injury crash near McDonald’s on North Bridge Street. The incident resulted in an OVI charge for refusing a chemical test, with a prior conviction or guilty plea noted.

Other Calls

Additional calls for service included non-criminal complaints on Clay Street and Parsons Avenue, as well as assistance to Child Protective Services on an ex parte matter. Another crash on North Paint Street was handled by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, with a city accident report completed.

In total, Chillicothe Police logged 16 reports on February 13 as officers continued routine patrol and investigative operations across the city.
