
Chillicothe, Ohio – July 23, 2025
Chillicothe Police had a busy day on July 22, responding to a range of calls that included drug activity, thefts, traffic stops, and multiple well-being checks across the city.
Just after midnight, an officer stopped a bicyclist on S. Mulberry Street for not using lights and discovered an outstanding warrant. Not long after, police responded to a theft report on Cox Avenue.
One of the more serious developments came when detectives reopened a 2023 cold case involving allegations of corrupting another with drugs. That investigation remains ongoing.
Later in the day, officers issued citations during traffic stops on S. Watt Street and 5th Street for violations ranging from running a red light to driving without a valid license. A separate stop on Ewing Street revealed a suspended license and fictitious plates.
A drug overdose was reported at a residence on Limestone Boulevard, prompting continued investigation. Meanwhile, police served a search warrant at the Christopher Inn on N. Plaza Blvd, resulting in charges related to drug trafficking and possession of Schedule I substances.
Disorderly conduct complaints were logged on Maderia Avenue and Schreiner Avenue. Officers also dealt with two cases of domestic violence, including one at a home on Schreiner Avenue and another on E. Main Street later that evening.
In other incidents:
- A theft by threat was reported on Betty Lane.
- Officers opened a drug trafficking investigation elsewhere in the city.
- Shoplifting at Walmart on River Trace Lane led to a summons.
- A crash report was taken near Crosskeys Tavern following a failure to yield incident.
Chillicothe police are continuing investigations into several of the day’s reports, particularly those involving drug activity and potential domestic violence.
