
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a variety of incidents on July 2, 2025, ranging from traffic violations to serious crimes, according to the daily media report released on July 3.
The day began at 12:20 a.m. with officers dispatched to Ewing Street and 5th Avenue following reports of a female yelling, involving allegations of felonious assault and possession of weapons under disability. The investigation remains ongoing. At 10:47 a.m., a trespass complaint was reported at Tiffin Towers on S. Walnut Street, with the case still under review.
Traffic-related incidents were prevalent throughout the day. At 12:45 p.m., a crash occurred on N. Bridge Street due to a failure to yield, and at 12:46 p.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported at Western Avenue and University, where a female driver fled the scene on foot. The latter incident involved charges of driving left of center and driving under suspension, with the investigation pending. At 4:08 p.m., a collision at Chestnut and High Street resulted in Jessica Walsh receiving a citation for failing to yield at a stop sign, lacking valid proof of insurance, and being advised of a July 14 court date. Additional traffic citations were issued on N. Bridge Street between 6:11 p.m. and 6:46 p.m. for obstructing intersections or crosswalks and running a red light.
Disorderly conduct reports surfaced multiple times, including a domestic dispute at 760 Sherman Road at 2:21 p.m., a disorderly incident at 138 E. 4th Street at 4:05 p.m., and a complaint at 609 Central Center at 7:18 p.m., all of which remain under investigation. A theft was reported on Vine Street at 2:05 p.m., with the case still active.
At 5:55 p.m., officers patrolling near the viaduct on E. 2nd Street arrested Barry Walls Jr. and Amanda Price on active warrants. Walls was served warrants for a secret indictment involving possession of heroin, breaking and entering, possessing criminal tools, and tampering with a coin machine. Both were transported to Ross County Jail.
A traffic stop at 8:32 p.m. on N. Brownell Street for improper display of plates led to charges of drug paraphernalia possession, drug possession, and driving under suspension. At 10:23 p.m., detectives initiated an investigation into drug trafficking on N. Paint Street, which is ongoing.
