
CHILLICOTHE — Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department handled a dozen calls on Monday, December 8, ranging from disorderly conduct complaints and shoplifting to traffic crashes, warrants, and trespassing investigations.
The day began at 10:44 a.m. with a disorderly conduct complaint on North Bridge Street. Officers documented the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Just minutes later, police responded to the 1000 block of East Main Street after a weekend shoplifting incident was reported.
At 11:34 a.m., officers were called to Liberty Street for a crash involving a driver who failed to maintain control. A report was filed.
Around 12:49 p.m., police were dispatched to the Par Mar Store on North Bridge Street regarding a wanted person. That investigation is ongoing.
A criminal trespass complaint at Walmart on River Trace Lane was reported via telephone at 1:37 p.m. No immediate arrest was made.
Just before 4 p.m., officers responded to East Water Street for a non-injury crash involving a driver who failed to yield right-of-way while pulling out of a private drive.
At 3:59 p.m., officers traveled to Jackson County to pick up a male inmate and transport him to the Ross County Jail on an active warrant.
A hit-skip crash occurred at 8:07 p.m. in front of Arby’s on North Bridge Street. According to the driver, a UPS truck ran a red light and struck his black Kia before fleeing the scene. Officers later located the UPS truck at its local hub with damage consistent with the crash. Witnesses confirmed the truck failed to stop at the light.
A three-vehicle crash at West Water and North Paint streets was reported at 8:21 p.m. A citation was issued and a crash report completed.
At 8:26 p.m., officers responded to a threats complaint connected to an incident on Lincoln Avenue. No criminal charges were filed.
A suspicious person call at Zanzi’s Pizza on North Bridge Street at 8:30 p.m. was classified as criminal trespass.
The final call of the night came at 10:53 p.m., when officers were dispatched again to Walmart on River Trace Lane for a female experiencing mental health issues. The investigation remains ongoing.
In total, 12 incidents were recorded for the day.
