CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a series of incidents across the city on December 21, 2025, ranging from burglary and theft investigations to traffic violations and an arrest on an outstanding warrant, according to the department’s daily media report.

Police began the day investigating a burglary reported around 2:28 a.m. in the area of South Hickory Street. Officers responded, took a report, and indicated no further information was available at the time.

Just hours later, officers returned to South Hickory Street in response to a complaint involving criminal trespass, threats, and traffic-related violations. That incident remains under review.

Several theft-related calls kept officers busy throughout the afternoon. Around 10:54 a.m., police were dispatched to Menards on North Bridge Street for a reported theft that also involved suspected drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs. The investigation is ongoing.

Later in the day, officers responded to multiple shoplifting complaints at Walmart on River Trace Lane. One case resulted in a summons being issued, while at least one additional theft investigation remained active as of the report’s release. Another theft was also reported on Laurel Street.

Traffic enforcement led to a citation around 4:17 p.m. after officers observed a driver committing multiple traffic violations, including unsafe lane changes and signal violations. A traffic stop revealed the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license, and a citation was issued with a court date provided.

In the evening hours, officers handled a delayed accident report on North Paint Street before returning to the same location later that night to serve a warrant. That call resulted in an arrest.

Police also responded to a motor vehicle crash on Western Avenue around 9:21 p.m. Details on injuries or citations were not immediately available.

Chillicothe police say investigations into several of the reported incidents are ongoing.
