Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents on Jan. 18I’m

The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of calls and incidents throughout the city on Sunday, Jan. 18, according to the department’s daily media report.

In the early morning hours, officers conducted a traffic stop around 2:34 a.m. in the area of South Paint Street that resulted in an investigation involving a warrant and obstructing official business. That investigation remains ongoing.

Shortly before 3 a.m., officers on patrol near East Main Street and Ewing Street observed a man matching the description of an individual with an active warrant. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Later in the morning, police were dispatched to Laurelville to take custody of Charles Young, who had been arrested on a warrant by the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is pending.

Around 11:48 a.m., officers responded to North Bridge Street for a traffic-related incident involving expired license plates, an expired operator’s license and a crash. A crash report was taken.

At approximately 12:19 p.m., police responded to North Renick Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle that had been recovered outside the city limits by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The driver of the vehicle had not been identified at the time of the report, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police were also dispatched to a domestic dispute on Adams Avenue at about 2:01 p.m. Officers reported a disorderly conduct investigation that is still continuing.

Later in the afternoon, officers responded to Fruit Hill Drive around 5:04 p.m. following a report of vandalism. The case is being investigated as criminal mischief.

In the evening hours, officers conducted a traffic stop on West Sixth Street for a failure to obey a traffic control device. During the stop, it was discovered that a warrant was involved.

Additional disorderly conduct calls were reported throughout the evening, including incidents on North Sugar Street and at Tiffin Towers on South Walnut Street. One of the incidents involved a domestic situation, with a report taken and no further action required.

Police were also dispatched to Kohl’s on River Trace Lane for an active theft complaint. The case involves allegations of theft by deception and obstructing official business.

Several investigations remain ongoing, and additional details were not immediately available.
