Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents, Including Shoplifting, Warrants, and Non-Suspicious Death

CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a range of incidents across the city on Wednesday, August 27, according to the department’s daily media log.

The day began around 12:48 a.m. on East Main Street, where officers reported an incident involving resisting arrest and obstructing official business.

A few hours later, at 7:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to Clay Street regarding an unresponsive woman. Police reported the case as a non-suspicious death, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Throughout the morning, officers served multiple warrants on South Paint Street, North Paint Street, and later in coordination with Jackson Police in Richmondale. One of those arrests involved Charles Vinson, who was taken into custody on an active Chillicothe warrant for drug paraphernalia and held at the Ross County Jail pending a court appearance.

Later in the day, police were called to Burbridge Street for a domestic-related incident, logged as disorderly conduct.

At 4:04 p.m., officers responded to Wal-Mart on River Trace Lane for a theft by deception/shoplifting complaint.

In the evening, police were called to Smoker Friendly on North Bridge Street for a reported protection order violation. That case remains under investigation.

The day concluded with officers responding at 11:28 p.m. to McArthur Gardens on Columbus Street, where a report of criminal mischief and theft was filed following a trespass complaint.

In total, Chillicothe Police documented 13 separate reports ranging from criminal mischief and theft to traffic violations and non-criminal matters.
