Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents, Including Drug Overdose and Domestic Violence

CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department (CPD) handled a series of incidents on August 6, 2025, ranging from traffic violations to serious crimes like a drug overdose and domestic violence, according to the CPD Daily Media Report released on August 7.

The day began with a traffic stop at 12:43 a.m. on West Main Street near South Bridge Street, where an officer arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant. No further details were provided.At 7:33 a.m., officers responded to a drug overdose at the rear of 301 Mechanic Street. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.Shortly after, at 7:52 a.m., police received a trespassing complaint on North Bridge Street. The matter remains under investigation, with no additional information released.

Traffic violations were a recurring issue throughout the day. At 8:37 a.m. and 9:10 a.m., officers conducted traffic stops on East Water Street near Mulberry Street and Paint Street, respectively, citing drivers for texting while driving. Later, at 10:36 a.m., a collision due to assured clear distance ahead (ACDA) was reported on South Paint Street. At 11:44 a.m., a traffic stop on East 7th Street near Madera resulted in citations for motorcycle or snowmobile law violations and failure to file for registration.

Property-related crimes also kept police busy. At 8:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to Toledo Street for a report of criminal mischief involving property damage, with the investigation still active. At 2:12 p.m., a criminal trespass incident and a warrant-related issue were reported at Sherman Park. Later, at 3:03 p.m., police responded to a burglary complaint at McArthur Gardens on Columbus Street, which also involved a warrant.

At 2:39 p.m., a theft complaint involving identity fraud was reported at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) lobby on McKell Street. The case remains under investigation as police gather more details.A domestic violence incident was reported at 4:27 p.m. at 857 Adams Avenue, where officers were dispatched to address a report of physical harm. The investigation is ongoing.

Finally, at 7:35 p.m., an officer patrolling North Bridge Street near East 2nd Street cited an individual for an open container liquor violation during a citizen contact.
